can't remember exactly...the mid 70's i was staying at a friend's apartment (he was out of town) down in old cabbage town in toronto in the early mid seventies after a break with my lady friend at the time...feeling depressed and sad and listening to the toulouse street album (doobie brothers) over and over and over ...late one night there came a knock at the door...it was she...she told me about her adventurous and dangerous trip from the preppy part of town where we had been staying with friends to where i was in the downtown area...cabbage town, in those days, wasn't the kind of place to be out on the street for a beautiful young woman...especially so late at night...this song is about the way i felt when i opened the door.... photos courtesy of Elisabeth Emma Lehner's wonderful collection...
